We started our group meeting that was held by 4 students in Room J12 on March 19th 2013 at 13:35pm. Mohamed Al Fahime, as the school principal, started  the meeting, that was about bad diet food that was served in our school and how it affects the students .Khalid Al Khoori  started naming all the different points that we were going to discuss and other several problems, such as the type of food that is served in the school, students bringing their own bad diet food ,changing the school menu and the prices that the school offer for a good diet meal in the school. Mansoor Al Hashimi listed the things that the students want and named them in the meeting; he agreed with the students and said that the school is required to change its menu ,Khailfa Al Khoori  suggested that he will be happy to give us the menu from Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority; our principal agreed and he said that that will also solve our pricing problem and it would be fair for the students and for the school .And then we moved to the next problem which is bringing bad diet food to school. All agreed that it was a bad thing and it would start a bad reflection of the school. Khalid said that he would collect the bad food from them and share awareness and contact their family.

I closed the meeting with good manners. I  think my speaking was fluent. The others in the group had good skills and used supportive language and seemed to understand the purpose of our meeting.

Our principal Mohamed started the meeting at 2:10 and Khalid named the main points in the agenda.

1-      The type of food that is served in the school.

Mansoor started by telling us what the students want and disagreed with getting a fast food restaurant in the school.

Khalid agreed with getting a food brand in our school ,also our  principal Mohamed.

Khalifa disagreed with opening a fast food restaurant in the school and suggested to have a much healthier offer like Subway.

2-Students bringing their own bad diet food like soft drinks.

Mansoor said that he caught some students sneaking outside food to school, not the healthy home food but the fast food for example, McDonalds, KFC and Burger King. He realized that some students were having high blood pressure and are obese; Khalid added that he had a meeting with the principal and said we will try to replace all those bad habits by making awareness and contacting their parents.

3-changing the school menu.

After discussing this point our principal asked Khalifa if the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority got a list of food that they suggest for the student and he agreed that he will send it to us the menu list and he added that the students will enjoy the food and it is good for them. Also, Khalifa said: the menu  will be under Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority monitory . In addition, the list will contain all the healthy food and fresh juices that will provide the students with the efficient amount of protein and nutrition for the students.

4-The prices that the school offers for a good diet meal in our school.

Mansoor said that the students won’t buy the school's food because it was a bit expensive .Khalifa added that the list from Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority will have a fair price for the students and also for the school, Mr Hedley asked Mansoor what are the types of food the student are getting in school and he replied that the school offer does not suit the students' wants;the school served a lot of cold food, the school cared more for their health than their satisfaction, but the students revolt against cold meals.

1-      We were able to get  good advice from Khalifa about a healthy restaurant for the school.

2-      Banning bad food is a must in the school so we will share awareness and try to contact the student's parents.

3-      We will change our food Menu so the students can get more options from Abu Dhabi food control authority.

4-      All the new prices will be fair and will be under the monitoring of Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority.
